Boris Saks, Esq. PLLC represents developers and real estate owners in land use and zoning matters before the Department of Buildings, New York City Board of Standards and Appeals, Landmarks Preservation Commission, Department of City Planning, the City Council, Borough Presidents and various agencies of the City of New York. We have handled variance applications for developments of commercial and residential properties, Special Permit applications with both the Board of Standards and Appeals and the City Planning Commission, and applications for changes in the City Map as well as amendments to the text and maps of the New York City Zoning Resolution.
Examples of successful zoning and land use matters in which we were recently involved include the following:
- An application for an Authorization with the Department of City Planning and a Certificate of Appropriateness with the Landmarks Preservation Commission for the conversion of a warehouse of approximately 100,000 square feet to luxury apartments;
- An application for several variances with the Board of Standards and Appeals for the development of a commercial office and retail building with more than 400,000 square feet in Flushing, Queens;
- An application for a variance for the development of a 70 unit residential building in the West Village;
- Applications with the Department of City Planning and the Board of Standards and Appeals for the development and preservation of a public plaza on the Upper East Side;
- Special Permit application for the development of a Physical Culture Establishment in Brooklyn.
